MA in Applied Ethics Now Accepting Applications
MA in Applied Ethics Now Accepting Applications
The MA in Applied Ethics at Western Colorado University is now accepting applications, due February 1 for a June 1, 2027 program launch. This 15-month, low-residency program blends ethics, praxis, and livelihood. Ethics: the MAE immerses students in an analysis of historical, contemporary, and culturally diverse ethical perspectives concerning individual flourishing, ethical responsibility, collective wellbeing, and justice. Praxis: the MAE prompts students to apply theoretical frameworks to the distinct needs of their home region, including a final community project rather than an academic thesis. Livelihood: the MAE is also a workshop in which students cultivate a purposeful livelihood—where “livelihood” extends beyond one’s profession. What ways of life and ways of being best express, complicate, and expand one’s values? Fellowships are available and a virtual information session with MAE Director Dr. John Hausdoerffer will occur on November 11 at 5 PM Mountain Time. Email maethics@western.edu with questions about the MAE or to reserve a free spot in the info session.
